After the success of MT-Laljose team's ‘Neelathamara’, it seems Mohanlal is also bitten by the bug of remaking old hits. The film which catapulted Mohanlal to superstardom ‘Rajavaninte Makan’ will be soon remade in Malayalam. The makers of the original movie, its director Thampi Kannanthanam and script writer Dennis Joseph has been called on for the discussion by Mohanlal's man Friday Antony Perumbavoor.

As per the latest reports the team has agreed to go in for a remake, rather than a sequel. The project to be produced by Ashirwad Cinema will also feature Suresh Gopi in the prominent role that he played in the original. It may be noted Suresh Gopi also came to limelight with this movie.

Pooja for the new movie is on the 16th of July, the date on which the original movie was released 25 years ago.
